There is a lot of talk about sustainability - and rightly so, in our opinion. Logistics is a resource-intensive industry. That's why SpediFux does everything it can to work with as few emissions and as little impact on the climate as possible during transportation. We explain what this looks like in concrete terms below.
The good news first: greenhouse gas emissions in Switzerland have fallen by almost 15 % since 1990 . Thanks to the joint efforts of politicians and the people, the national ecological footprint continues to shrink. Nevertheless, many changes are still needed to reach an environmentally friendly level and reduce global warming.
In 2019, domestic emissions of CO2 equivalents were around 5.5 tons per inhabitant. However, if the additional pollution from imported goods is taken into account, this figure more than doubles. Despite all efforts, the balance thus exceeds the global limit value of a maximum of 0.6 tons of C02 equivalent per capita many times over. Consequently, many changes are still needed.
Transport accounts for almost a third of domestic greenhouse gas emissions. In contrast to other sectors, a decline has only been observed here in recent years. As a large proportion of transportation is still carried out by truck, the logistics sector is also one of the more climate-intensive branches of the Swiss economy.
SpediFux® is aware of all this and takes its responsibility for sustainable logistics very seriously. We attach great importance to climate protection and fulfill the obligations arising from our activities. To this end, we have developed a balanced and effective concept with which we analyze and consistently reduce our ecological footprint.
We are already working as sustainably as possible. Our logistics network already has an enormously high proportion of rail transportation. Compared to conventional transportation by truck or air freight, this makes our work much more climate-friendly.
Where rail travel is not an option, we rely on state-of-the-art electric vehicles. In urban areas, we also use bicycles. Our partners also attach great importance to sustainability. Together, we work as resource-efficiently as possible, for example by recycling wear and tear materials such as tires or tarpaulins. Sometimes we even use them for upcycling. Unlike conventional recycling, the end product is of higher quality than the materials used.
Technological progress is also important here. As a provider of simple and innovative transport solutions, we always keep an eye on the latest developments such as delivery drones or alternative drive models.
For continuous optimization in the area of sustainability, we need a solid database. So the first question is: How big is our ecological footprint anyway? That's why we determine the respective emissions value for each individual transport. To do this, we use ClimatePartner's calculations, which are accurate to one decimal place. It provides SpediFux with an up-to-date, detailed overview of its environmental footprint at all times.
We also use the extensive data to analyze how we can make logistics even lower in emissions in the future. Incidentally, we remain transparent as usual. HERE you can see for yourself at any time that we keep our promises.
With the new GreenScore app, we are now going one step further: it provides customers and partners with an individual environmental rating for each transport. This allows everyone involved to keep an eye on their own ecological footprint at all times.
Taking responsibility: Climate neutral through compensation
Unfortunately, emissions in logistics cannot be completely avoided. SpediFux therefore sees it as its duty to offset its environmental footprint. Thanks to offsetting in cooperation with ClimatePartner, all services can be offered completely climate-neutral. SpediFux offsets the amount of CO2 equivalents generated by investing in charitable and sustainable projects. We explain exactly how this works.

The Swiss Mountain Forest Project has set itself the task of combating the local effects of climate change. At over 40 locations in Switzerland, volunteers maintain native forests under expert guidance. The project's activities include the removal of storm damage, reforestation and protection against pest infestation. Since 1990, more than 80,000 new trees have been planted at home.
